GIFT GUIDE :: MOTHER'S DAY

Mothers. They are the connectors. We all have one. Every single person on this Earth came through a woman. Isn't that amazing? We all have this miracle in common. Me, you, Beyonce. It's definitely a reason to celebrate.

My mom has already said she doesn't want any THING for Mother's Day. Like most, her greatest wish is to spend more time with me and her grandkids. So we will have a family weekend together and create memories that can't be wrapped in a box. I do believe these are the best gifts we can give. An extra hour of sleep, a brunch filled with laughter, a phone call, a long hug, an "I love you". Those are the things I crave most from my children, well maybe not the phone call....yet.

But if you are looking for something special for Mom, I've complied what I think is a pretty unique collection of beautiful items she can truly use or enjoy. You won't find pajamas or a #1 mom charm here.

Enjoy!

1 :: Kendra Scott Necklace :: I love that this piece doesn't look like the signature KS style you see on so many folks. This is a great long line necklace that can top off any outfit with style and flair.

2 :: Kimono :: A killer kimono can take an outfit from o.k. to wow in an instant. Be sure to pick one that doesn't have the tie and belt loops. Those feel a little too bathrobe-y and that's not the look we're going for here. Mom can throw this over jeans and a t-shirt and be ready for brunch. This one is from Anthro, but you can find them at every price point from Nordstrom to Forever21.

3 :: Fuji Instax Camera :: I LOVE this as a gift idea for a mom or grandmother. We take sooo many pictures now but they end up stuck on our phones. Give this paired with a few boxes of film and let mom and the grandkids go snap-crazy and fill up the fridge door with smiles. Instant gratification! You can even surprise her with festive film throughout the year (hello, Amazon Prime for the best pricing).

4 :: Floral Garden Set :: If she loves to garden and enjoy the outdoors, this is a sweet treat alternative to the boring steel options.

5 :: Tiffany Tea Set :: Treat mom to Breakfast at Tiffany's every morning. The mugs are Tiffany's finest china and mom can use the tin for storage after tea time. I received this set for Christmas and adore it (under $100!). Makes my hot chocolate feel so fancy.

6 :: SMEG Electric Kettle :: This nifty kettle comes in a variety of colors so you can choose mom's favorite. It's retro design makes for a cute countertop addition.

7 :: Texas Otomi Wrap :: Local Dallas artist, Allison Castillo designed this gorgeous oversized scarf and it's a stunner in person. Large enough to be worn as a coverup or even tied into a vest. The colors are perfect for summer.

8 :: Canvas Grocery Bag :: Practical and sweet. First pick the design (there are so many funny veggie and fruit puns to choose from), then fill it with mom's favorite grocery treats and deliver. She'll appreciate the thoughtfulness and goodies.

9 :: Brother P-Touch Label Maker :: For the busy but organized mom, this is a winner. It syncs with your phone via an app where you can design and quickly print labels for water bottles, canisters, craft boxes, etc. A handy and unexpected mom helper.
