Texas Forever

At this time last year I was busy packing up our home in Austin and getting the family ready to move to the Pacific Northwest, Washington specifically. If you were inquiring about calligraphy work, you probably received my auto reply with this news. Well, now we're back in Texas and I'm back on my lettering game.

Before heading to Washington, we would enjoy a not-so-restful family vacation (more on that later) for a couple of weeks in Colorado before heading into the biggest family adventure of our lives. Actually, the hubs and I have dubbed it our "10-month long vacation" in Washington because let me tell you, if you ever get the chance to head to Portland, OR or the Washington area, DO IT! It's absolutely breathtaking. Even the grey and rainy days were appreciated because they gave us a reason to do a little happy dance each time the sun made an appearance. Oh and when the sun shines there, it's like walking around inside of a big, beautiful Bob Ross painting surrounded by happy trees.

This Texas girl totally left a piece of her heart in Camas, WA. This sweet, vibrant little town with tons of historic pride made our family feel so welcome. The people, the schools, the librarian, heck even the towering trees and Mt. Hood felt like they were giving us great big hugs. We made so many genuine friends, remodeled a 50's house in the heart of the city, took the kids skiing, hiked, biked and ran through the woods as often as we could. See what I mean by a 10 month vacation?!

Alas, we returned back to the Lone Star State for work reasons and to be near our family and friends again. It has been good to reunite with TexMex, Longhorn football fever and our expansive sunsets, Texas does have THE BEST sunsets. And of course, I also missed my late nights filled with addressing invitations for brides bubbling with excitement for their big day and getting creative with chalkboard signs. If you're friends we haven't caught up with yet, I look forward to seeing you again. If you're a new client, I look forward to working with you. Thanks for keeping Texas hot for us while we were gone, y'all!

Texas Forever.
